The SD-502 is the pinnacle of the SD series, adopting a genuine three-way design to achieve exceptional tonal continuity and expressive detail. Where most compact towers compromise, the SD-502 excels — delivering expansive bandwidth and refined articulation in a restrained footprint.
Driver Configuration that Performs
The top end is handled by the same DMD diamond-dome tweeter (9980-20) found across USHER’s elite models. A dedicated 4.5″ multi-layer paper-fiber midrange driver (0426AP1) takes over from 420 Hz upward, relieving the tweeter and enhancing clarity. Two 5.5″ paper-fiber composite woofers (0535K) tackle frequencies below 420 Hz, providing deep, controlled bass with unity and power.
Sophisticated Crossover & Construction
The SD-502’s network features refined crossover points at 420 Hz and 2.4 kHz, optimised for coherence and driver efficiency. Premium components (air-core inductors, high-grade capacitors, oxygen-free copper wiring) are standard. The cabinet employs 0.85″-thick panels and internal bracing to suppress resonance, while a bottom-mounted reflex port enables compact depth yet strong bass extension.
Visual and Spatial Integration
Despite its tower stature, the SD-502 preserves an elegant form factor: just 23.5 cm wide and 38.5 cm deep, standing at 112 cm high with a weight of 25.5 kg per unit. Finishes include high gloss or matte Walnut wood veneer with piano black front baffle, magnetic grilles for a clean, premium appearance.
